4、are passed down from generation to generation. Taboo is like an invisible discipline to fetter peoples language and behavior, causes them afraid to do much things. Therefore, the taboos become a major obstacle in communicative activities, especially Cross-cultural Communication. In the daily contac

5、t, offends the taboo often leads to more serious consequence, such as friendship frequently break and transaction defeat, the race conflict and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to compare Chinese and Western taboos to avoid unnecessary cultural conflict and promote harmonious development of mankind

Public relations decorum and customs taboo In Western countries, it is necessary to make an appointment in advance for visiting someone, and proh

41、with saints’ name, such as Confucius, Laozi, Mencius and so on, if do it , it would be think that it is not respected to saints; family taboo meaning that the person can′t take the same name with guardian and teachers, envying the family taboo is a performance that person respects the ancestor. the

In the western culture, the racial discrimination is an important component of language taboo. In the U.S., Negro has strong insulting, which used to call the black, it should be cal
