21、或動名詞。It is worthwhile taking/to take the trouble to explain a job fully to new employees.給新雇員詳細解釋一下工作,費點事也是值得的。Nursing is a very worthwhile career.護理工作是很值得干的職業(yè)。(1)worth adj.意為“值得的,有的價值”。它是一個十分常用的詞,常用句型有:be worth doing sth. 做某事是值得的。worth后的v.ing形式用主動形式表示被動意義。句子的主語是v.ing的邏輯賓語,故其后不能再接賓語;如果不是及物動詞,必須加上相應的
22、介詞。It is worth making an appointment before you go.去之前預約一下是值得的。be worth 名詞,可與上一句型互換。What he said was worth a try.(What he said was worth trying.)他所說的值得一試。be worth 錢或相當于“代價”的比喻性名詞等。He paid only $300 for his used car but its worth a lot more.他只花了300美元就買下了這輛舊車,但其價值遠不止這些。不可以用very, too, quite等詞修飾worth,通常
23、用well修飾。This piece of advice is well worth one million.這條建議的價值遠遠超過一百萬元。(2)worthy adj.意為“值得、配得上”,“有價值的、值得尊敬的”,后接不定式或作定語;常用短語be worthy of,后常接名詞或動名詞的被動式。Mr. Li is a worthy man and we all respect him.李先生是一位值得尊敬的人,我們大家都很尊敬他。He is worthy to take his place. 他值得擔任那個職位。Her behaviour is worthy of great praise
