17、ainy, sunny, windy...). 下雪(多云、下雨、晴、有風(fēng)……) 3. … although this year it snowed a lot. 雖然今年下了很多雪。 although = thought conj. 然而; 盡管 引導(dǎo)的讓步狀語從句不能與 but, however 連用, 但可與 yet, still 連用。如: 1) 雖然他很累,但他一直在工作。 Although/Though he was tired, he continued working. 2) 盡管他很忙,但是還常常幫我學(xué)英語。
18、He often helps me with my English although/though he is quite busy. 4. Me neither. Me neither意為“我也不”,用于后一句的情況與前一句所述的否定情況相同的場合。 【鏈接】 Me too意為“我也一樣,我也如此”,用于后一句的情況與前一句所述的肯定情況相同的場合。 1) — 貝蒂上周沒去那個舞會。 — 我也沒有去。 — Betty didn’t go to that dance party last week. — ________________.
19、 2) — 比爾喜歡秋天。 — 我也一樣。 — Bill likes autumn. — ________________. 5. I wish I were in Australia now. wish可用作動詞,意為“愿意;希望”,常用結(jié)構(gòu)為: (1) wish to do sth.表示“希望做某事;想做某事”。如: I wish to go on a trip to Beijing. (2) wish sb. / sth.+ adj.表示“希望某人 / 某物如何”。如: I wish you healthy. (3) wish
20、sb. + n. 表示“祝愿某人如何”。如: I wish you a long life. (4) wish + that從句,此時從句中的謂語多由would 或could 構(gòu)成,表示幾乎無法實現(xiàn)的愿望,意為“希望……;但愿……”。如:? I wish you would go with me. 【運用】 根據(jù)漢語意思完成英語句子,每空一詞。 (1) 他們祝我們好運。 They _____ us ____ _____. (2) 我希望待在這里。 I ____ __ ____ here. (3) 祝你快樂。 I _____ you _______. (
21、4) 我真希望能和你一起去那里。 I wish that I _____ __ _____ with you. 6. Rainy weather is terrible! terrible的基本意思是“可怕的,恐怖的”,指某事物給人恐怖的感覺,但在日常英語里,它通常用來表示事情很糟糕、很差 e.g. They are having a terrible time. 他們的日子過得很糟糕。 My English is terrible. 我的英語很差。 7. It’s probably sunny and hot there. 那里的天氣可能晴朗、熱。 probably
22、adv. 大概;或許;很可能 英語中表示可能的方式有: 通過will以及表示“可能”的形容詞和副詞表達(dá), 常用的有: It is possible to do sth. .., It is possible that …, 主語 + will probably / possibly + v.等。如: Is it possible to visit Alaska in December? 十二月去阿拉斯加游覽有可能嗎? It is possible that it’ll be snowy in the night. 晚上有可能會下雪。 It’ll probably be cold a
23、nd wet天氣很可能會又濕又冷。 probably 表示“很可能”,所以表示的可能性要比possible 大。 8. Come on, better get going! 好了,走吧! Better get going 相當(dāng)于had better go now, 意思是“最好現(xiàn)在去/ 走”。如: We’d better get going (= We’d better go now ) , or we’ll be late. 我們最好現(xiàn)在就走,不然要遲到了。 Step 6 Complete the passage. 1. 27、 be Mark’s mother. How long might the travel take? Susan might not return tomorrow. 注意: may和might 表推測時,may比might 表示的可能性要大一些;而might 使說話的語氣更加委婉,表示實現(xiàn)的可能性比較小。 【運用】根據(jù)括號內(nèi)所給提示將下列漢語句子翻譯成英語。 1. 這塊手表不是你的。它可能是誰的呢?(may) The watch isn’t yours. Whose may it be? 2. 爸爸也許知道如何發(fā)動那臺機(jī)器。 (m
