3、. Teaching Aids: 1. a projector and some slides 2. the blackboard Teaching Procedures: FStep Ⅰ.Greetings and Revision (Greet the whole class as usual.) T: Yesterday we learnt a story about a terrible flood. Who can retell the story to us? S: Let me try. First Flora heard somebody shouting. S
4、he looked round and saw Jeff running, but she didn’t know what was happening. Next, Flora saw Jeff waving his arms to her She looked around and saw a big mass of water advancing towards her. Then, Jeff ran to save her. They ran together towards the house. It was very difficult for them to get to the
5、 house. Finally they managed to get to the house and they ran upstairs quickly. Jeff wanted to find the chimney. He thought the chimney would stand in the flood. They found a safe place at last. 6、ok at the words on the screen. Try to think of their meanings and their usages. Then finish the exercise on the screen to check if you can use the verbs correctly. 13、he Attributive Clause. And in the second sentence,“The story” is modified. T: Very good. Please sit down. Now, I’ll show you some other sentences on the screen. Study them carefully and you may discuss in pairs. A moment later, I’ll ask you some questions. (Show the following on the screen.) 1. T
14、he boy who/that lives next door has two dogs. 2. The woman (who/whom/that) you visited last week is a famous writer. 3. And there she saw a big mass of water that/which was quickly advancing towards her. 4. These are the pictures (which/that) my daughter drew when she was young. 5. Do you know t
15、he boy whose eyes are blue? (A few minutes later, the teacher begins to ask questions.) T: You have learnt something about the Attributive Clause before. Now, I’ll ask some questions about these sentences. As you can see, there is an Attributive Clause in each sentence. Pay attention to the relati
16、ve pronouns. What can you see from the first two sentences? S: From them we know that “who/whom/that”can be used to introduce an Attributive Clause modifying a person. T: Good. Can you tell the differences between the two sentences? S: When the relative is the Subject of the clause, we can use “w
17、ho”or “that”,and they can’t be left out. When the relative is the Object, we can use “who”“whom”or“that”and they can be omitted in spoken English. T: Very good. Now, let’s look at the third and the fourth sentences. Who can tell the difference between them? S: Let me try. From them we know that “w
18、hich” or “that”can be used to introduce an Attributive Clause which modifies a thing. They can be left out when they’re the Objects of the Attributive Clause. T: Quite right .Please sit down. From these four sentences, we know that “that”can be used to introduce a clause about either a person or a
19、thing. Now, let’s look at the last sentence. Who can give us the Chinese meaning of it? S: I’ll try. It means“你認(rèn)識(shí)那個(gè)藍(lán)眼睛的男孩嗎?” T:Good. Who knows what is used to introduce the Attributive Clause in this sentence? S: I know. It’s “whose”. T: Good. And “whose”is used as the Attribute of “eyes”.They a
20、re usually put together. You shouldn’t separate them. Are you clear? Ss: Yes. T: Good. Now, please turn to Page 27.Finish the first exercise quickly. After you finish, you may check your answers in pairs. Then we’ll check the answers together. (A few minutes later, the teacher checks the answers
