2019-2020年八年級英上冊 Unit 5 Lesson 38 Dear Diary教案 冀教版 Teaching content: Learning English Book3 Unit5 Lesson 38 Teaching aims: Knowledge aims: 1. To learn the new words, phrases and some sentence patterns: lock, key, but, improve; be the opposite; Nobody can open my diary but me. Li Ming is sure that I will have a good future. To be a doctor, I will need to learn a lot in school. 2. To revise to write a diary. Ability aims: 1. Get the useful information when listen to the tape. 2. Can retell the main idea of Wang Mei’s Diary. 3. Develop reading technical ability. 4. Can write a diary according to the information es from readings. Emotion aims: 1. Make the students know how important it is to have an ambition. 2. Dare to express one’s own ideas in English in studying. 3. Set up a right occupation view. Teaching aids: A tape recorder, a book of diary, multimedia Teaching methods: Listening, fast- read, group cooperation, make a survey, writing Teaching steps: Step1: Leading – in (Show a book of diary to the students.) T: I have a beautiful diary. It has a lock. I open it with a little key. Nobody can open it but me (= Only I can open it.). I wrote in it every day. It helps me to improve my English. (Show the paragraph on the screen. Get the student to guess the meaning of the new words in blue colour: 1. lock 2. key the keys to the locks 3. but = except 4. improve = make better / raise) Step2: Presentation T: Wang Mei has a diary, too. Do you want to know what she wrote in it? Ss: Yes. We do. (They are very excited.) T: Me too. Then let’s learn a new lesson, Lesson 38 Dear Diary. (Show the topic on the screen.) Step3: Listening Get the students to listen to the tape and find out the answer to the question on the screen: What’s Wang Mei’s goal? Check the answer. Step4: Reading 1. Get the students to read the text by themselves quickly and silently. When they find something important or difficult, they should point it out. 2. Show some important language points on the screen. Language points: I open the lock with a little key. Nobody can open my diary but me. I might be the opposite. She asked us about our ambition. Li Ming is sure that I will have a good future. To be a doctor, I will need to learn a lot in school. 3. Divide the students into groups of six. Give them several minutes to learn by themselves. They should learn from each other and help each other. 4. To solve the problems that the students can not solve together. 5. The students read the text again. This time, they should read it aloud. Step5: Game - Rob to answer Divide the students into seven groups. Ask them to close their books. Ask some questions for them to answer. ( To learn a lot in school. ) Who wrote a page for the book of predictions? ( Every pupil. ) When does Wang Mei think she will open her lock and read her diary? ( When she is older. ) After finishing the game, show the questions and answers on the screen. Step6: Retell Keep the key words and phrases on the screen, ask the students to retell the text with their own words. Key words and phrases: thirteen, a diary, her mother, with a little key, nobody, ambitions, Li Ming, to learn a lot in school, every pupil, is older. Step7: Writing T: From this diary, we know that Wang Mei’s goal is to be a doctor. Do you have an ambition? What is it? Please write it in your diary. You can use the expressions on the screen: My ambition is_________. I hope to ___________. I want to __________. Later, let’s share some of your diaries. OK? Now, you can begin. (Ask two students to write their diaries on the blackboard. Share them with the whole class. Give them some encouragement.) T: Well done. I’m proud of you. Step8: Make investigations 1. Have each of the students to survey three of their classmates. Write down their goals. 2. Make an investigation about the whole class. Say to them: I know each of you have an ambition. I want to know how many of your have the same ambition. Let’s make an investigation. When I ask how many students want to be…, you should put up your hands. Show a form on the screen: How many students want to be…? Step10: Conclusion T: Each of you has an ambition. They are different but they are all important and necessary.
