一、教學目標
1. 能夠在教師的引導下，借助圖片和其他閱讀策略讀懂本單元的故事，回答B(yǎng)，C兩項的問題。
2. 能夠通過閱讀Smith一家人的圣誕節(jié)活動，了解更多有關西方節(jié)日的慶祝方式和習俗。
二、教學建議
讀前活動
1. 教師播放音樂，請學生齊唱圣誕歌曲：We Wish You A Merry Christmas!
2. 教師問學生：What do you know abo

3. 學生四人一組，展開討論并回答。
4. 教師向學生介紹：Christmas is the birthday of Jesus. During the Christmas, there are three important days, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
讀中活動
1. 教師請學生打開課本快速閱讀一遍故事，初步感知文本主要內(nèi)容。
2. 教師說：This is a long passage, but we can divide it into four parts. The 1st p
3、art is about a week before Christmas. How about the 2nd, 3rd and 4th part? 學生回答：Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the day after Christmas。教師帶領學生在故事中標注出四個部分(the 1st part: 圖一?圖三；the 2nd part: 圖四?圖五；the 3rd part: 圖六?圖七；the 4th part: 圖八)
3. 教師分配小組任務。學生四人一組，組內(nèi)每人負責在一個時間段的圣誕活動下畫線并承擔相應的介紹任務(三?五句)，同時組內(nèi)成員互助學習生詞，
4、如：decorate, wrap, stocking, at the bottom of等。
4. 學生以小組為單位，向組員匯報Smith一家人在圣誕季四個不同時段的活動，如：S1: It’s a week before Christmas. The Smith Family ... S2: It’s Christmas Eve. First, they ... S3: It’s Christmas Day. The family ... S4: It’s the day after Christmas. The Smith family ...
5. 學生聽錄音默讀故事，進一步理解故事
5、內(nèi)容。此時教師可帶領學生進一步復習生詞，如：decorate, wrap, stocking，at the bottom of等(通過圖片、英英互譯或舉例說明的方式理解生詞)。
6. 學生在小組內(nèi)朗讀故事，或者全班學生接龍讀故事(一人讀一段，前一名學生讀完后選擇后一名學生繼續(xù)朗讀)。
讀后活動
1. 教師請學生看B項的幾個問題，并嘗試回答。教師及時訂正。
2. 教師說：Christmas is the most important holiday in western countries. What holiday is the most important in China? How

3. 教師向學生提出三個問題：What do people do before/on/after Spring Festival? 請學生自主選擇并回答。
4. 教師及時把學生的精彩回答以思維導圖的形式記錄在黑板上，幫助學生掌握更多有關春節(jié)的英文表達，如：

9、 is celebrated on October 31st. It’s a time of ghosts and witches. On Halloween, some people dress up as ghosts, witches and other scary characters. On Halloween night, children go door to door asking for sweets. People like to make jack-o-lantems. At night, they put them outside their doors.
