How does Chinese culture affect gender roles? A:hey, guys, would you prefer to attend the Christmas party at my home last weekend? My dad will do his specially dish----spicy diced chicken with peanuts that night, last time he cooked it is in the spring festival,it is so delicious ,you can not miss it! B:really?I would like to!so~~it can be indicated that in your family, regularly your mom is the main cooker and your dad do no kitchen job?it sounds strange. C:Are you kidding? You think it is strange?Isn’t it a common practice that in china man is the main bread-winner and woman is responsible for housework? D:of course it is! It’s our traditional that the man goes out for work while the woman looks after the house. In my family,my dad nerve do the housework. B:yeah, but as the social background has changed, maybe the traditional Chinese culture’s influence is fading, just like Allen ’family. A:frankly speaking, what you have just said does surprised me a lot.I can’t agree more with Berry, though traditional Chinese culture has a great impact on our daily life,it’s influence is not as strong as before. C:By contrast with you, as far as I am concerned,Chinese traditional culture’ influence is widespread.Besides the family roles, the society roles is closely related to it as well.for example, women tend to choose nurse, teacher as their job, while most drivers and programmers are man. D:yeah,in the process of growing up,we learns hundreds of culturally patterned details of behavior that become incorporated into our gender identity. C:you are right!in China ,some of this learning takes place directly. In other words, the child is told by others how to act in an appropriately famine or masculine way. Take myself for example, I was always taught to “behave yourself, behave like a lady.” since I was young. B: what’s more, because of the unique characteristic of the Chinese culture, most details of gender behavior are taught unconsciously, as the culture provides different images, aspiration, and adult models for girls and boys A:um~~OK,I was persuaded ,I can’t deny what you have said.It is the truth that even in my family, my parents always desire me to be a nurse but not a doctor, they are influenced by the traditional Chinese culture too. D:all in all ,we can draw the conclusion that though the society background has changed rapidly, Chinese culture does affect gender roles by various ways and its influence will carry over.- 1.請(qǐng)仔細(xì)閱讀文檔,確保文檔完整性,對(duì)于不預(yù)覽、不比對(duì)內(nèi)容而直接下載帶來(lái)的問(wèn)題本站不予受理。
