7、ou feel? ______________________________ 環(huán)節(jié)說明:通過上述影片和提問,使學(xué)生本課內(nèi)容有了初步的了解,從而達到導(dǎo)入新課的目的。引起學(xué)習短文的興趣。 Step 2 1. 要求學(xué)生快速默讀短文,熟知大意,并找出各段的主題大意并標出事件的正確順序。 然后邀請幾位同學(xué)給出自己的答案,全班一起檢查討論。(3分鐘) 2→5→1→3→4 2. 先邀請幾位同學(xué)閱讀短文(可一人一段),教師要注意語音,及時糾正。然后播放錄音,全班同學(xué)一起跟讀。(3分鐘) 3. 短文內(nèi)容鞏固練習。教師可給出一篇改寫了的短文,將一些重點的表達方式空出。讓學(xué)生在規(guī)定的時間內(nèi)補
8、全短文。然后邀請若干同學(xué)給出自己的答案。(4分鐘) Peter had a soccer match today, but they lost the game because Peter missed scoring the goal. Peter thought he had let his whole team down and was worried that his coach might kick him off the team. Peter’s father told him that soccer was about team effort. He was not the
9、 only reason your team lost. If he had a good team, they should support each other. Besides, winning or losing was only half the game. The other half was learning how to communicate with your teammates and learning from the mistakes. The next day, Peter went to soccer practice with courage rather
10、than fear in his heart. His teammates all nodded in agreement that they would continue to pull together to win the next match. 14、堂訓(xùn)練部分) §備課資料包 a.詞匯包 rather than 而不是 rather than的用法? 一、“other than”的含義 1.other than = except, but, apart from “除……以外” There is nobody here other than me. 這里除了我以外沒有別人。 Someone other than your brother should be appointed manager. 應(yīng)當任命一個除了你兄弟之外的人當經(jīng)理。 2. other than = besides “除……以外,還……”

17、ut other than that there should be no side effects. 你會感到有點發(fā)悶,但除此之外不會再有副作用。 2. other than + 形容詞 She can hardly be other than grateful. 她內(nèi)心充滿了感激之情。 I could not feel other than surprised. 我只是感到吃驚。 3. other than + 副詞 She performed other than perfectly. 她的表演遠非盡善盡美。 I could not do it o
18、ther than hurriedly. 我只能匆匆忙忙地做了那件事。 4. other than + 介詞短語 We decided not to stop anywhere other than at his house. 我們決定,除了他的房子以外,任何地方都不停留。 You can’t expect to get a pay rise other than with hard work. 只有努力工作你才能增加工資。 5. other than + 過去分詞 The problem is other than settled. 問題還沒有解決。

20、ther than + 從句 She is other than I thought. 她和我想象的不一樣。 I don’t wish her other than she is. 我不希望她改變現(xiàn)狀。 I can’t be other than I am. 我只能是我。 The truth is quite other than what you think. 事實真相和你想的不一樣。 三、other than的其他搭配 ① nothing other than “只是、僅僅” They were given nothing other t
21、han dry bread and water for their evening meal. 他們只得到了干面包和水作晚餐。 ② no other than “正是、恰恰是” It was no other than my best friend, Mary. 這不是別人,正是我最好的朋友瑪麗。 ③ no + 名詞 + other than “正是……” It was no other person than Mr Smith. 那人正是史密斯先生。 ④ none other than “不是別人/別的東西,正是……” It was non
22、e other than Tom! We thought he was in Africa. 不是別人而正是湯姆!我們還以為他在非洲呢! 【橫向輻射】would rather/sooner和prefer/would prefer的區(qū)別 would rather和would sooner之間一般沒有區(qū)別,但經(jīng)常接觸到的是would rather。如:Tom would rather /sooner read than talk. 湯姆寧可讀書而不愿談天。 請注意 1)would rather后跟不帶to的不定式+than+不帶 to的不定式,而prefer后跟動名詞+to+動名詞。有
23、時prefer后面也可跟名詞,而在would rather之后要求只帶動詞原形。如:He prefers wine to beer.= He would rather drink wine than beer. 他喜歡喝紅葡萄酒而不喜歡喝啤酒。 2)某些 prefer+名詞的情況不能用 would rather完全確切地表達出來:He prefers dogs to cats.(他喜歡狗而不喜歡貓。)和 He would rather have dogs than cats.(他寧可養(yǎng)狗而不愿養(yǎng)貓。)很明顯,這兩句的意思并不完全相同。 3) would rather+不帶to的不定式有時
24、可代替 would prefer+帶 to的不定式。 I’d rather fly than go by sea.=I’d prefer to fly.我寧愿乘飛機也不愿乘船。 這兩個結(jié)構(gòu)后面帶名詞時情況也一樣: I’d prefer a coffee.=I’d rather have coffee than gin. 我想喝點咖啡。/我想喝點咖啡,不想喝杜松子酒。 4)would rather/sooner和would prefer后面都可跟完成式,但后者帶to。 We went by sea but I’d rather have gone by air=I’d prefer
25、 to have gone by air. 我們是乘船去的,可我本想乘飛機去。(我愿意乘飛機去,可我的愿望未能實現(xiàn)。) 這和 would like+不定式的完成式有點相似,would like+帶to 的不定式的完成式也表示未能實現(xiàn)的愿望。 【課堂變式】 It showed us that what these children need is a happy family _____money and food. A. instead B. but also C. not only D. rather than 【解析】由句意可知,孩子們需要的是一個幸福的家庭而不是金錢和食物。other than + 名詞/代詞意為“而不是”。故選D
