She is such a lovely baby that everyone loves her. 1. such... that 作“ 如此…以至于” 解,連接結(jié)果狀語從句。(結(jié)果狀語從句是用來補充說明主句動作發(fā)生所帶來的結(jié)果。) 和 so... that 意思相同,但是用法不同。so 是副詞,后面可加形容詞和副詞: so+ adj./adv.+ that clause e.g. It is so nice that we can go out for a picnic. 天氣是如此的好以至于我們可以外出野餐。 而 such 是限定詞,后面要加名詞或名詞詞組,名詞前面可以帶形容詞,也可以不帶。 such +noun/noun phrases + that clause e.g. It is such a nice day that we can go out for a picnic. 2. Step 4 Grammar explanation (so that) 1. so that引導(dǎo)目的狀語從句, (目的狀語從句用以說明主句動作發(fā)生的目的。) 其從句中的謂語動詞通常和情態(tài)動詞can, may, will, might, would, could, should等情態(tài)動詞連用, 而且主句和從句之間不使用逗號。 so that意為“以便, 為了, 使能夠”,可以與in order that相替換。 e.g. They got up early so that they could catch the early bus. 為了能趕上早班車, 他們早早就起床了。 Say slowly so that I can understand you. 說慢點, 好讓我聽明白。 We will come at eight so that the meeting can begin early. = We will come at eight in order that the meeting can begin early.
