2、ays raising money for one cause of another, but he has never managed to get enough money to have the church clock repaired.英文中表示神之人員的詞有：Vicar:尤其指英國國教的神父Priest：尤其指天竺教的神父Pastor：特指基督教的神父rector：強調(diào)掌管一個教區(qū)的神父raisingraising在這里作籌集講，在表達這層意思時，后邊經(jīng)常跟的賓語有：raise cash/capital/fund.For one cause or another這里的cause是事
3、業(yè)的意思。例：the cause of world peace。。。。。。。to have the church clock repaired.To have sth done 請一個專業(yè)的人來做。例：have my car repairedThe big clock which used to strike the hours day and night was damaged many years ago and has been silent ever since .Strike the hours:報時，它后面可以直接加上數(shù)字，表示幾點報時。Day and night= nigh an
4、d day 總是。I’ve been coming up here night after night for weeks.Night after night=every night.英文中表示“損壞，被傷害“常用的詞有：Damage：強調(diào)的是事物被損壞。Injure和hurt 主要用來形容人受傷害，injure尤其將身體上收到傷害，hurt強調(diào)心靈上收到傷害。The clock has been silent ever since.英文中表示”安靜“的詞有：Silent：強調(diào)無聲的安靜Still：強調(diào)的是沒有動作的安靜Quiet是說一種氣氛上的安靜、安寧。One night, our vic
