Be able to understand a conversation about rules. Be able to tell each other what rules their family make. Can read and write public signs. Be able to master some important expression: too many ,have to ,after school ,on school nights ,be in bed, by 10 o’clock, help sb(to)do sth, make dinner, later, later on Teaching focus: To encourage the students to show their voice. The correct use of imperative sentences. Teaching aids: puter, TV screen, tape recorder, blackboard, picture Teaching procedure: Step 1: Sing a song and find out school rules and family rules T:Do we have school rules? Ss:Yes, we do. T:Do we have family rules? Ss:Yes, we do. T:Right, we have school rules as well as family rules. Now let’s sing a song and please find out school rules and family rules, using Imperative Sentences please. S1:Don’t wear hats in school. S2:Don’t listen to music. S3:Eat in the dining hall. S4:Wear a uniform. S5:Watch TV after school. S6:Don’t go out on school nights. S7:Practice guitar every day. Ss:Clean your room. Step 2: Watch two segments of “逃學(xué)威龍” and find out what school rules the students are breaking. T:Is this song beautiful? Ss: Yes, it’s very beautiful and we like it very much. T: Now let’s see a wonderful video. Please watch carefully and find out what school rules the students are breaking. Just challenge your memory. Ss: Ok. (After the video) S1: Don’t play balls in class. S2: 不要吸煙。 Sorry, I can’t say it in English. T: You’re cute. It doesn’t matter. It should be “Don’t smoke’ or “No smoking”. S3: Don’t drink. Don’t talk loudly. = No talking. Step 4: Please read the letter and list the rules in Zhao Pei’s house. (3a) T: Now let’s e back to family rules. Every family has its own rules, so does Zhao Pei’s family. Today we’ll see a girl called Zhao Pei, please read the text in 3a quickly, and find out her family rules. (After 3 minutes) Now let’s check the answers in the whole class. Zhao Pei’s eight rules: Get up at 6 o’clock. Don’t meet friends after school. Do homework after school. Don’t watch TV on school nights Be in bed by ten o’clock. Clean the room and wash clothes on weekends. Help mom make dinner. Go to the Children’s Palace to learn the piano. Step 5: Team work-----a three-minute debate------please show your voice T: What do you think of Zhao Pei’s family rules? Are they reasonable (合理) or not? Team1& Team2 agree with the rules, but Team3&Team4 don’t agree with the rules. 參考句型: I think the rule that we can’t meet friends after school is good/ bad…., because it’s …. One point. one star. The team who gets the more star wons the debate. OK, let’s start. Step 6: Show time:: please write your own family rules. T: I’m sure you have your own family rules. Would you like to share with us? Then please write on the textbook. Later I’ll ask some students to check. Step 7: Group work------Make rules for your parents and make a report T: Parents can make rules for us, then can we make rules for them? If you have a chance to make some rules for your parents, what rules would you like to make? We are equal to each other, and we advocate the sense of 民主, so please make rules for your parents. .Work in groups of four and give some suggestions to parents, for example, “No smoking , dad.” Write a letter to them in a good way to make them accept the suggestions.
